Chapter 80 - Do Whatever You Want[]

Shouta's father disapproves of Sawako for "spoiling" his son, and threatens to call off any engagements with him. When he leaves, Sawako offers to shelter Shouta at her house. There, Shouta reveals a strained relationship with his father, who was particularly angry at him for not joining the high-school baseball club. He chose not to in case he came to hate the sport over the strain between his father and himself. But when he stated his intention to inherit the family business instead, he was met with the same disapproving reaction as before. Sawako tries to calm Shouta down by claiming that his father was indeed looking out for him by saying "do as you please". Shouta feels only slightly better at this, saying that he has never broken free from his father, but he will think about it again for another meeting. When Shouta asks for Sawako's career plan in response, Sawako gives a straight answer - she would like to teach. Shouta agrees that she would be suitable for such a career, having held study sessions with the class before. Before Shouta leaves, he admits that Sawako being present at school earlier calmed him down. He also kisses Sawako before leaving. Unfortunately for Shouta, the arguments continue when he gets home. The next day, during the meeting with Pin which her mother also attends, Sawako requests to change what she wrote on her career questionnaire. Sawako's mother receives a glowing reference from an unknown classmate regarding her daughter's tutoring - this in turn encourages Sawako to do her best.

Chapter 81 - Just a Thought[]

Chizuru is reassured by Ryu's father that she is welcome to work at the ramen bar anytime. Chizuru remembers what Ryu had told her - he would be captain of his baseball team and thus unable to work part-time. However, she also wonders what it means for Ryu's baseball career after high school. The next day, Sawako reveals her career plan to Ayane and Chizuru, the former of which knowing that Sawako would have to attend university and get a degree. The rest of the class hear this, and spread gossip about having a ghost teacher at school someday. Meanwhile, Ayane and Chizuru are set to have their careers meetings with their parents as well. Chizuru starts to wonder what others think about her, but when she asks, the responses inevitably shift towards Ryu. Ayane, Chizuru and Sawako retreat to continue the conversation in private - Chizuru admits her worry about what to give Ryu for Valentine's Day, so the conversation shifts in that direction. While Sawako walks home with Shouta in high spirits, Chizuru has her careers meeting with her mother and Pin. Pin suggests that Chizuru study for a vocational qualification, that could lead her to a job at a credit union. Afterwards, Ayane's careers meeting has Pin suggest that Ayane has been lowering the bar too far. On their way home, Ayane's mother appears to agree, having seen her own daughter not take risks since a young age. She reveals her career experience, and leaves to get back to work.

Chapter 82 - Different Valentine's Days[]

On the run-up to Valentine's Day, Sawako, Ayane and Chizuru bake chocolates together for their partners. On the day itself, Kento reveals that he knew Shouta didn't get chocolates last year. Kento also receives chocolates from his fan club, who now support his new relationship with Ayane. Just before class, Joe also brings up what happened last year, causing awkwardness between Sawako and Shouta again. After the first lesson, the three girls "give" some of their homemade chocolates to Pin at his office. Because of her after-school duty, Sawako has only lunchtime to give the chocolates. Fortunately, Shouta accepts to meet Sawako at lunchtime. However, their meeting is interrupted when another teacher hands Sawako an immediate assignment, so Shouta agrees to meet her after school instead. At the same time, Kento and Ayane exchange chocolates, while at the tea room they agreed to meet in, Chizuru gives Ryu a pair of batting gloves as well as chocolates. When the conversation gets awkward, Chizuru impulsively measures Ryu's heartbeat compared to hers. Ryu breaks his silence by announcing his intention to go to university, and thus continue his baseball career.

Chapter 83 - A Smile Like That[]

Shouta receives a threatening text from his father, seemingly designed to distance him from Sawako. Sawako has no choice but to let him go. She also has to assure Ayane, before the latter leaves school with Kento, that everything is fine. During her after-school assignment, Sawako blames herself over another failure to give chocolates. After reporting to Pin at the end of the assignment, Sawako frantically tries to look for Shouta again, only to be stopped by Kurumi, who makes her long-awaited return. Kurumi is not impressed that things are going full circle again, even without her input this time. She also reveals that she has stopped looking for love after turning down many guys. Eventually, Sawako makes it to Shouta's store, and has to convince his father to let her in. Shouta's mother allows Sawako to hang around in Shouta's room until he returns, even bringing her tea while she waits. When Shouta finally arrives, he comes clean over the chocolates Sawako saw already in his room, and finally accepts the chocolates Sawako prepared for him. Shouta also returns a kiss.
